..The Imam’s reply to Abbas Najm: As for Allah’s sudden chastisement that is for those whom death takes
them all of sudden by any reason of all reasons
be upon you our honorable Imam
(Say: See, if the chastisement of Allah should overtake you suddenly or openly, will any be destroyed but the wrongdoing people?)Truthful Allah the
Great
What is meant by “openly” in this verse where it came as versus to suddenly. So is it possible that the chastisement comes not suddenly?
Allah’s peace and His mercy be upon you
In the name of Allah the All Merciful, the Most Merciful, prayer of forgiveness and peace be upon Mohammad and his family, and all Allah’s prophets
and their virtuous families, and the followers the best foremost supporters in every time and place till the last day, after this..
Allah’s peace, mercy and His blessings be upon you my beloved in Allah’s love Abbas Najm the respectable and honored, in regard to the chastisement
that will come only that is the chastisement which will witness it those who turned away before their death so they would try the escape from it for survival. Confirming with the word of Allah the Most High: {Certainly We have revealed
to you a Book which will give you eminence. Do you not then understand?(10) And how many a town which was iniquitous did We demolish, and We raised up after it other people!(11) So when they felt Our might, lo! they began to flee from it.(12) Do not flee and
return to the easy lives which you led, and to your dwellings, that you may be questioned.(13) They said: O woe to us! Surely we were unjust.(14) And this cry of theirs ceased not till We made them cut off, extinct.(15)}Truthful Allah the Great [Al-Anbyãa´]
21:10-15, so that is the open chastisement as like the chastisement of people of Noah or people of Abraham and Lut or Shu`aib they saw the chastisement before Allah annihilated them and they tried fleeing and the survival so they went about in the lands at
the time of its occurrence for they may find a place of refuge from it so Allah surrounded them then He made them cut off, extinct.
As for Allah’s sudden chastisement verily that for those whom death overtakes them suddenly by any reason of the reasons, then they will
burn in blazing fire, and all of who turn away; of Allah’s enemies, will burn in blazing fire whether whom Allah made them perish by chastisement from Him or the death caught up with them suddenly. And for that Allah the Most High said: {And
follow the best that has been revealed to you from your Lord before chastisement comes to you all of a sudden, while you perceive not—(55) Lest a soul should say: Oh my sorrow, that I fell short of my duty to Allah! and surely I was of those who laughed to
scorn;(56) Or it should say: Had Allah guided me, I should have been dutiful.(57) Or it should say, when it sees the chastisement: Had I another chance I should be a doer of good.(58) Aye! My messages came to thee, but you did reject them, and were proud and
were of the disbelievers.(59)}Truthful Allah the Great [Al-Zumar]
39:55-59
Thus of the chastised a people whom Allah would annihilate them suddenly with a chastisement from Him while they are sleeping as an example when
He gets their homes by an earthquake from the foundations then the roof would fall over them suddenly so they die. Confirming with the word of Allah the Most High: {Those before them have plotted, so Allah demolished their building from the
foundations, so the roof fell down on them from above them, and the chastisement came to them from whence they perceived not.}Truthful Allah the Great [Al-Nahl]
16:26
And any chastisement surprises them suddenly before seeing it as well from the sudden-surprising chastisement, as for the chastisement viewed by
the eye that it is upcoming so that is not of the sudden-surprising chastisement to the fact they seen it before it annihilates them, and they tried to find shelter from it when they saw it for they may find a shelter from it so they went about in the lands
